The Satuit Boat Club welcomes back all our returning sailors—and a huge ahoy to anyone thinking about joining the fun for the first time. If you’re new to the starting line, we’re here to help you make the most of it. Need crew? Confused about local rules or mark roundings? Looking for the shoreside post-race festivities? We've got you covered.

 

Scituate Sailing is gearing up for another legendary season, including our famous Wednesday Night Spring and Summer series, the Fall Weekend series, and our premier Mass Bay qualifier, the Scituate Invitational.

 

This year, we’re offering three distinct classes so every boat and skipper can find their groove:

• Spinnaker Fleet (Class A): For those who love flying the laundry, endlessly tweaking trim, and living on the tactical edge.

• Non-Spinnaker / JAM Fleet (Class B): Jib and Main only. Classic, strategic racing with zero stress over giant bags of nylon.

• Recreation Fleet: Consider this your friendly kick in the pants! If you aren't quite ready for full-tilt racing tactics, but your boat has spent too much time acting as a floating bird perch, this class is for you. Low pressure, zero intimidation, and the ultimate excuse to unhook from the mooring and actually use your boat this summer.

 

We use the PHRF scoring system for our racing fleets. Skippers will register their designated class for the full series (Spring, Early Summer, Late Summer, and Fall). If a Spinnaker boat decides to run Non-Spinnaker for a specific race, your PHRF rating will adjust and your score will still count toward your Spinnaker placement.

 

For years, Scituate Sailing has been driven by sportsmanship, community, and friendly competition. We encourage all skippers and crew to officially register and join the club—your fees go directly toward running smooth races, maintaining mark boats, and hosting great events on shore.
